DRUMS for TAL Sampler Episode 1 : The Jimmy C
DRUMS for TAL Sampler
Episode 1 : The Jimmy C
194 Samples making up 13 individual kits and a further 14 modified kits aiming squarely at Dirty, Noisy, Dark and Dusty drum sounds.
Taken from a remote recording session done by Jamie Coghill (https://thejimmyc.bandcamp.com/) during Melbourne's 'Big' lockdown of 2020, DRUMS aims to stay within the ideals of TAL Sampler.
Instead of building a huge, multi-mic drum instrument with 100 round robins, the best one shots were picked and moved into a drum machine 'pad-style' workflow.
The samples were then processed through a variety of analogue tape machines, guitar pedals, plugins, a crusty old mixer and TAL Sampler itself to create a group of kits ranging from raw, garagey rock drums to subby, dubby, noisy hip hop sounds.
DRUMS is an exploration of pushing a single set of samples in multiple directions.
All kits use samples in 24/48 but included in the download is also an extra folder of all samples rendered at 16/44.1 for those who may wish to put these samples into a hardware sampler and play.
